Medical research is at the beginning of a era where we can reasonably make sense of a lot of the biology that underpins health and disease. This is both because of our advancing knowledge and advancing technology.
Its difficult to stay abreast on all that is happening. One thing that I have noticed from 17 years of helping researchers put together research proposals is that there are frontiers in medical research that reach a point where they are appealing to those that fund medical research. Paying attention to these is a decent heuristic for knowing what the future will bring.
There is another reason why the fundable frontiers in medical research deserve out attention. That is that the implementation outcome of medical research, innovation, is complex and challenging. It takes on average 17 years for medical research findings to make their way into the clinic.
We need bold leaders to realize the full potential of medical research. We need people steeped in new approaches to leadership that parallels advances in technology - medical research leadership 4.0.
One of the key features of medical research leadership 4.0 is working together. Multiple disciplines and multiple types of stakeholders need to work together to make sense of the complexity inherent to the biology of health and disease. We need to leverage our ability to work together. We need to understand and learn how to maximize collective intelligence.
So, by subscribing you will stay abreast of the frontiers in medical research as I use my broad experience and relate emerging research and technology development to their potential to be funded, but more importantly their potential to end the suffering that individuals afflicted by disease bare. You will also learn about collective intelligence and leadership as I bring concepts and practical advice from the fields of behavioral Psychology and business management into the realm of medical research.
If you decide to pay for a subscription, will not only have access to the full archive of material, including my book Assembled Chaos, you will also be invited to and benefit from online workshops on the fundable frontiers in medical research. These are where we will collectively learn about the fundable frontiers in medical research and prepare to build them into future funding proposals.
